Creating New Menu Area

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to create a new menu area in a child base theme? For instance, when you go to appearance > menus, there are four menu locations and I would like to create a fifth one. How do you do that?

James, I don't know of any limit that WordPress places on the number of menus you may create in Appearance > Menus. I have 5 created on one site. I know you may have an unlimited number of secondary menus. Where are you seeing the limit of 4, if I may ask? Or do you mean parent, child and grandchild menu levels? I believe on each page you may select a secondary menu, then you may hide the primary navigation menu via the PageLines settings on the right.

Im sorry! I probably didnt explain myself clearly. I meant I wanted to add another menu location in the pagelines theme. Currently the 4 available are: - Simple Nav Section - Page Navigation in Footer Columns - Primary Website Navigation - BrandNav Section

You would have to create a new PageLines section. http://www.pagelines.com/wiki/PageLines_Sections
