Sidebar on Static Home Page Issue

Recommended Posts

gbaustin

Question from a newbie: I have a static home page in which I am trying to put a couple of widgets in a sidebar. I have a full width header image. When I place the widgets in the wrap one of the widgets shows up behind the header. If I place them in a sidebar one of them still shows up behind the header image. Any way to move the widgets down and still maintain the fullwidth header? Thanks, Greg

Hi Greg, I am not following your question... Is your site live? Do you have a web address? What do you mean by "wrap one of the widget"? Isn't your full width image in header section? Isn't sidebar in content area BELOW the header section? Sorry for not understanding you. Paul

I agree with cybersphere. Do you want to move the header image so that it's positioned above the widgets?

Cybersphere & Catrina, Here's the link to my site: http://www.elpatioaustin.com/ You'll see that on the home page their is a google map that is showing up behind my header image. I'd like to move it down so it is to the right of the Feature box. I have the Primary Sidebar in the Wrap area. I placed some html for a google map inside of a Text box in the Primary Sidebar. I was thinking the Wrap would be below the header image. Not sure what I did wrong. Thanks for your help, Greg

For some reason the primary sidebar is being pushed up. Do you have any custom CSS added to your settings?

That was it. Awesome, Thanks! I didn't realize it was in there but it was embedded in some other CSS I had added. Thanks, Greg P.S. Catrina, here's a link you might enjoy. A friend of mine has put this site together. http://catvideos.com/
