scotmanfrontiernetnet 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 I was managing the backend of my wordpress website Niche Website Strategy and I have ad campaigns. With these ad campaigns the clicks are recorded and the start date of each campaign as well. Back in late Febuary of this year I enrolled in Pagelines Affiliate Program, which I am very pleased with. My suggestion is based on the amount of clicks each campaign received I noticed one thing that the campaigns that have animated graphics in them, get twice the amount of clicks than the ones without animations. So suggestion goes out to PageLines if you could offer us some animated affiliate badges I would really enjoy tracking it further for you to see if it increases the amount of overall clicks you all get. Check the corresponding picture below. HG has the animated badge, the others do not.

bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 Well, you could or have someone, design any graphic you wish to use for affiliate links. I don't know if it's PageLines style to have anything flashy or possibly annoying or distracting, but simple, clean and professional. For people who like that, just as many or more may also be turned away by an ad that attempts to distract them from the content in any way. I could be wrong. But, the developers will see your feedback either way and might decide to offer an animated ad, thanks for your feedback. Thanks, Bryan

bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted June 29, 2010 If you'd like, you could share some of your data, how many people visit your site per day, the kind of people that typically visit your website (demographic), browser stats and so on. Please be careful to post any sensitive data. Thanks, Bryan
scotmanfrontiernetnet 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2010 Thanks Bryan the amount of hits per affiliate partner can be seen in the image above in the stats. WP125 auto tracks the managed ads. So that is the data I was referring to but I get an average of 200 unique visitors per day and its rising weekly. The demographic is majority of hits are in the United States. Now I was thinking one it was the animated HostGator image that drew their attention, then they seen the price and checked it out for more information. So I was going to animate a pagelines 125x125 ad and attach their set price to it and see how it does compared to the standard ones. Just wanted to see if animated affiliate ad would increase the pagelines conversion rate over time. Anything to increase conversion rates without making it too obnoxious was my goal. scotmanfrontiernetnet 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Thanks cmunns I will first try the set price on and get it rolling today. The animated image though I never made one so going to have to find out how you do that.
