mike4zengmailcom 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2010 How do I change which blog post categories display on different pages? All of my new blog posts and categories show on the page /news-blog/ I want to segment some of the blog posts by category to show on the page /social-blog/ How do I customize the pages to show only certain categories? For example, the category "main-news" to show on /news-blog/ and "social-news" to show on /social-blog/ Thanks!
Andrew 207 Report post Posted June 21, 2010 well if you link to a specific category page, doesn't that work? Meaning, if you are on a category page (i.e. permalink) you should only see posts from that category.. right?
mike4zengmailcom 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2010 sorry, im pretty much new with wordpress... still figuring out how to use alot of it.... In Reading Settings I have: Front Page Displays Posts Page: The ARK (/news-blog/) So all new posts that I have go to that page. I have setup a syndicated feed and want that feed to go to another page... but all the new posts keep going to The ARK (/news-blog/) Sorry, this is probably really simple... i just dont know how to customize pages to only show specific categories. Do I need to make a page a category page? If so, how do I do that? btw, love the new theme! and the great support! thanks!
cmunns 16 Report post Posted June 21, 2010 The main posts page is always going to be the page where all new posts go unless you throw in some custom code to modify "the loop" as it's called You don't need to do that though. Option #1 is to utilize WordPress 3.0's new menu feature to add a category to the main navigation so it links to a specific category OR you can watch the video I created in the docs showing you the old way to do it. http://pagelines.com/docs (under videos)
