A shortcode plugin won't play nice...

Recommended Posts

I'm using WHP3, using this shortcode plugin to put an RSS feed into a page. The shortcode displays its content fine but it breaks any formatting in the post or page. Here's a test post. Here's a test page. Notes: - The shortcode works fine in any other theme. - It won't work properly as a widget or in a feature box either. - Firebug shows that the shortcode-produced content is outside the normal structure of the post or page, in fact it doesn't show it in a DIV at all. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Strange, I looked at your source and the output is coming after the feed.... What is the intended behavior and are you sure it works that way in other themes? The reason I ask is because the theme shouldn't interfere with this plugin or the way its drawn to the page...

Hi Andrew, It's doing it in any theme, you're right, I thought it was working properly in the K2 theme and in the 2010 theme, but I'm wrong about that. The intended behavior is to have a "page" of RSS feeds, similar to the way "newspage" is supposed to work. I don't understand how the output can come after the feed when it's before the feed in the source. Do you think this is an issue with the plugin? (I am beginning to believe it is...)

Could be a plugin issue... did you check with them? Maybe it's a setting..

I did check with them, and it is a plugin issue. You can close this, they said they'd be updating it soon with a fix. I looked at the plugin code, it's pretty ratty. Anyway, thanks!
