Insert Space after Navbar

Recommended Posts

I am trying to insert some space between the nav bar and the pagelines_content area to place a image that my page title could go on top of. Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

You can increase the padding below the nav bar using CSS. How do you plan on adding the image? What image are you placing below the page title?

I'm trying to create a specific header for each page. So after the branding and navigation bar I'd like to create something like this: http://proof.saamadesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/vision_head2.gif so that the page title is on top of the gradient looking bar. Does that make sense? And that was my question... does anyone have any ideas on how to add it? I added the phone number above the nav bar with a hook but I'm not familiar enough with them to know

Yes, it makes sense. I don't think you need to insert the image manually for each page using a hook in order for it to show as part of the page title. CSS can be done to accomplish this. Can you please post a link to your site?

My site is currently under a maintenance mode. Could I just send you my css?

Or should I just disable the maintenance for a while?

It would be easier for you to disable maintenance. Can you also post the image URL for the image you want to insert?

I have disabled it and the site is http://proof.saamadesign.com/ Here is the image url http://proof.saamadesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/title_background.gif

Please add this CSS to Custom Code > Custom CSS in your settings:
.post-title-section {background-image: url('http://proof.saamadesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/title_background.gif'); background-repeat: no-repeat; padding-left: 170px;}
Note: The Page title will remain below the feature slider as long as the feature slider is still there, but you can remove the feature slider so that the page title is directly below the navigation bar.

We're getting there! Currently it isn't appearing the entire way. How can we change that? Also, I need to place it in between the nav bar and the red border that is showing on each page. That's why I thought we might need a hook. Can we do that?

This is a very generic fix which will apply everywhere and could well have some negative consequences:
#content .content-pad { padding-top: 20px; }
The default is 10px and you can adjust the 20px to any number with which you're comfortable. It could change pages and posts where you don't want extra padding.

Thanks! I think I figured out a way to make it only apply to the pagelines_content. Thanks a lot everyone!

Ok I guess I just have one more question. Now that I have the title looking the way I want it to how can I move it up into the padding space I created?
