Vertical menu plug-in question

Will I be able to use a vertical menu plug-in in a div or a sidebar if I use the sidebar next to a featured slide show - or do i have to create manual links for each menu item on every page in a dropdown section?

Nevermind - found the custom menu widget in the widget section - hoping that will work! ... hopefully even in the demo?
