Trouble moving the search bar into the branding area

Hi everyone! We recently switched our company's website over to Pagelines 2.0 from PlatformPro and the process was pretty painless except for one issue: We moved the search bar up into the branding area as we had it before the upgrade, and now it looks like something is blocking the actual functionality of the search. This issue only comes up in Firefox. It works fine in IE. See site: http://www.writersrelief.com And the code we used:

}
.searchform {
display: inline-block;
margin: 3px 5px 110px 0;
position: relative;
width: 180px;
}
.searchform input.submit {
height: 17px;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
position: absolute;
right: -5px;
top: 4px;
width: 17px;
}

(plus code to make the navigation full-width) It looks exactly as we want it to, you just can't use it in Firefox. Is there a way to have the search form float above the branding content? Or perhaps a way to have the search form be part of the branding area altogether, instead of a part of the navigation that has to be moved? I tried searching the forums for similar discussions, but nothing quite seems to match up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try this:
.searchform { z-index: 10 !important; }
