Language in Pageline with Poedit

Recommended Posts

Sorry, have asked this before but ran in to problems. I can open the files and translate. But when it comes to saving there are problems. The old thread died when I thought I had it all figured out... I have watched a tutorial about this. They named the file pt_SE.mo but in your theme they are called fr_FR.mo and so on. Should i name my file se_SE.mo and put that file in the language map. Then open the wp-config.php and put in se_SE so it looks like this? define('WPLANG', 'se_SE'); So can anyone point me into a tutorial that shows not only how to translate files but also where to put the files. Thanks in advance! Peter

Peter, First what product are you using? PageLines Framework, PlatformPro or one of the themes? All of the PageLines products are localization-ready, which means they can easily be translated in other languages. We usually recommend the following steps during the localization process: 1. Look up Localization on WordPress: http://codex.wordpress.org/Translating_WordPress 2. Use PoEdit (http://www.poedit.net) to create your translation files. 3. After translating the file by Poedit save the translation. Poedit creates two files for you. One with the extension ".po" and the other one with the extension ".mo". Upload both files to the folder "language" located in PageLines folder. Alternatively, you could use another plugin (e.g. Codestyling plugin) to apply the translations. The "Leave a Reply" text and a couple of others are hard-coded into WP and are a bit more tricky to translate.
