jQuery Newsticker

I'm trying to get the jQuery newsticker (http://www.jquerynewsticker.com/) to work a website i'm builing using Platform Pro. http://textualhealing.co.uk/home/ I've uploaded the files to a folder, linked the CSS and the script in the Custom code / footer scripts section (code is below). The test content isn't showing so I must be doing something right. But it's still now working. I've tried with and without the hook to insert jQuery from Google. Any ideas. I'm really stuck. Thanks P //jQuery Insert From Google if (!is_admin()) add_action("wp_enqueue_scripts", "my_jquery_enqueue", 11); function my_jquery_enqueue() { wp_deregister_script('jquery'); wp_register_script('jquery', "http" . ($_SERVER['SERVER_PORT'] == 443 ? "s" : "") . "://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js", false, null); wp_enqueue_script('jquery'); }

Thanks. I've tried putting the code in the Headersripts box and the ticker still doesn't display.

Hi, I'm not sure that jQuery is necessarily compatible with WordPress. Keep in mind, it's not a plugin, and may lack specific coding required by WordPress to work within its parameters. You may need to write to the script author and ask if he's tested it in WordPress and if he has any specific guidance for that. Meanwhile, you may find a similar plugin at http://www.wordpress.org/extend/plugins where you could apply CSS to get a similar appearance.
