I??™m currently working on a website for a writer using Platform Pro. They want to have their portfolio inline using a blog format. http://textualhealing.co.uk/category/book-reviews/ So for each category they like to have a header and a bit of copy describing the category. Using Book Reviews as an example Where is currently says 'Currently viewing the category: "Book Reviews"' I??™d like to say just Book Reviews as a header (no currently viewing the category) and then have bit of copy for as a description ???I've reviewed a number of books for The Independent on Sunday and The Independent; here is a selection.??™ What??™s the best way to do this? And how do I do it? Thanks P

My suggestion is to create category pages statically. Here's an example of what I did: http://www.epicurus.com/Glossary/beverages You can also add content blog links rather than subcategories as I did on that link. Here's an example: http://www.epicurus.com/blog/about/our-people/laurie-burrows-grad I used plugins to create the list of subcategories (Multi-Column Taxonomy plugin) and TPG Get Posts for the author page. This allows me to create great static category pages looking any way I like, not limited to the WordPress format. I hope this helps!

Thanks. Tried the plugins, but the client has specifically requested the look of the pagelines catergoies with some copy at the top. Will have to check out other options.

Perhaps there are other plugins you can try out. The WordPress Plugins directory is here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
