Search result page - how to show page description and link?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am trying to edit the search result page on my website: www.stenvall-skoeld.com. I have read the thread: http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/13640/customize-search-results-page/p1 and others on the forum but don't manage to understand it. I want to do the following: - Decide what information is shown. At the moment only the page title is shown and no description. - move the sidebar from the right to the left side - show the address under each search result (to summarize I would like to make it look similar to Google search result). Thanks cj

Hi CJ, The first thing you will want to do is probably upgrade to the latest version, you currently have the following: Platform Pro: 1.2.3 Platform Base: 1.0.4 The latest versions are: Platform Pro: 1.5.3 Platform Base: 1.4.1 These versions are very old and I recommend you upgrade. Be sure to back up all your custom Code, CSS as a precaution. As for changing the position of the sidebar on the search results page, this isn't possible with Platform Pro without effecting all other special pages like Blog, Archive ect... Although, with PageLines Framework you have full control of special pages. You can demo the PageLines Framework at http://demo.pagelines.com I also recommend you take a look at this plug-in, its quite useful and has a lot of features. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/relevanssi/

Please search our forums, before posting!
