Categories as pages

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping someone can give me simple instructions on how to do this: I want to create a post type based on a category that shows up in my primary sidebar, that is linked to a page in the navigation menu at the top. So, for instance, in the sidebar, I'd have a column of posts that all fall under a certain category. That same category shows up as a page in the navigation bar at the top, which holds the archives of that type of post. I would be greatly appreciative of any basic steps on how to do that. I'm using Pagelines Framework. thanks in advance.

Hi, If I am reading it correctly, I guess this will help you - http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/16096/add-category-to-navigation-bar-and-sub-menu#Item_4

Hi Pankaj1, Thanks, but I also need to know how to create a sidebar that shows the most recent four posts created in that category?

You can add a widget that can do that (using a plugin). Here's one you can try out: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/category-posts/

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
