First time load - Text formatting

Recommended Posts

johnlatham

Hey, I notice that when I visit my site on a computer that hasn't been on it yet, the text display's its original formatting before changing to my custom formatting. Why is this? www.johnlathamweddings.com Thanks

Are you referring to the font style loading a split second after the website loads? (I don't see this issue when I view your site on my computer)

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.

Yes, but only for first time users. Is it something to do with the !important code needed that I haven't put?

Are you using 3rd party fonts?

Georgia is the default font in the typography settings. How do you mean 'in custom css' ?

The answer is no to custom fonts. Only using georgia and arial. Thanks

Hey no not yet... I have noticed it again. Could it be something to do with that I have to use the important code? It feels like its showing the original fonts first and then my chosen ones because the code for the new fonts is only in 'custom css' edit panel which I believe over rides settings and not actually replaces them?

That usually happens when you override a font using custom CSS or if it is loading a web font.

Is there a way to tell the site to ignore default fonts and just go straight to the custom css?

Not to my knowledge. I'm unsure how you're pulling the fonts in Custom CSS. Can you post the css you have here? Perhaps there's a missing operator or, it may not be necessary to pull a default font in CSS.
