Javascript code works fine on Widget Sidebar but not on Feature Slide

Recommended Posts

Hi, I had one purpose for this WhiteHouse3 Theme, but having an issue on my HomePage. I placed a javascript code (similar to aweber) on Widget Sidebar and this works fine. I wanted to use it as a primary spot under Feature Slide1 (not to be confused with Featured Box1). This works with the exception that it REPEATS the code and so looks awful. I've tested 3 other themes (including default WP theme) and they all work fine. THanks in advance for any help. YOu can look at my website here: http://bit.ly/ducCyU

I'm pretty sure JavaScript is not allowed in the features, for this plugin/widget you're trying to use, see if you can find a shortcode alternative. Shortcodes look something like:

[place-widget-here]

Thanks, Bryan

Bryan, Thanks for the response. I've been checking the forum for any feedback and was getting impatient for awhile. As you can see on the homepage, it works (it just got some cleaning up to do with that code). I've placed this on every single Theme imaginable (kinda weird that WhiteHousePro3 would not make this work?) Also, if you click on the Blog section, you can see this working perfectly on the Sidebar (placed in Widget). This is the ONLY reason why I bought this theme and would love for this to work. Thanks in advance for any help. Marc

Figured it out by pure luck. Trial and error. Since I wanted this javascript to be on the Sidebar as well, it did not work when Sidebar was shown on the homepage as well. But somehow Sidebar worked fine everywhere but the homepage. When I removed the code from the Sidebar on the homepage and replaced it in a Secondary Sidebar on the homepage, it still didn't work. Finally, I took out the code from the sidebar and voila, the code on Featured worked perfectly! Somehow, you can't have this code showing more than once on a page. Closing this as Resolved.

Yeah, it could have been conflicting to have duplicate scripts or one might have just taken precedence. Thanks, Bryan
