Re-route Uploads to S3

Recommended Posts

Using S3 for storage on a multi-site install so it doesn't take up my quote in 10 minutes. ;) How can I re-route uploads through the framework uploader to S3?

Just filter the uploader, we hook into the standard wp uploader anyway and it should just work.

You mean by adding a php filter in functions? Yeah I was hoping it would "just work" but it puts the files uploaded through the framework in the media library, not on S3. Files uploaded through the media library directly get sent to S3.

Not sure if its going to work then. I know with super-cache it just uses maxcdn to show any images on my site that i upload within the backend.

Yuppers I know what you mean with maxcdn. Unfortunately maxcdn doesn't appear to cooperate with s3, at least through total cache it doesn't. Not sure if super-cache offers maxcdn AND s3 at the same time. This is no biggie. Users will upload big ticket items like gallery images through the wp core uploader anyways which get sent to S3. I'll come back to this later. Thanks Pross.
