Boxes Showing Thumbnails and Excerpts for Posts

Is it possible to give the boxes more functions, ie. the ability to show excepts and summaries from posts?

If you download http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/special-recent-posts/ and implement the correct shortcode inside boxes, you definitely can apply title, excerpt, thumbnails, links, etc. on a broad or category basis inside boxes or soapboxes. However, keep in mind that if you have tightly packed boxes (like 3 across) in a content area, you will have rather bad looking content in the boxes. I'd suggest no more than two boxes across in the content area. Much better to make more rows than columns.
