Frustrated with Feature template home page

Recommended Posts

guerrilla

Trying to get all the fine-tuning done before moving the theme to my actual site. Here's the link to my test site: http://wordpress-how-to-tutorial.com/ This is with the home page set to use the feature full-width template. See the big, white, empty gap between the fbox and morefoot areas? Also, attempting to use the feature with sidebar template results in the sidebar but no blog content listing. ecopro-feature-prob1.png Sorry to sound so frustrated but I purchased the theme because I needed something professional looking that I thought I could use with Google Website Optimizer. I haven't even gotten to testing the various WP plugins or modifying code to do optimizing, yet... I've restored everything to the original settings and widgets (except the main side bar). Any help would be appreciated since I'm already blowing the deadline.

ecopro-feature-prob1.png Apparently, there's a typo in the image link. 2nd times the charm?

Once more with feeling. Here's the image shrunk to 500 pixels. ecopro-feature-prob2.png

Hello, Looking at the code on that page,

<div id="fullwidth" class="contentcontainer fix">

has a 'min-height' of 460px. I'd be looking into that first. That page is kind of 'expecting' more content in between the fboxes and the footer, so if you aren't going to have any content there at all you will probably have to fiddle with some of the CSS I think. Simon

Thank you, Simon for the feature page gap tip and link to the other topic. I'm still wondering why I don't get any blog content listing when I set the feature with sidebar template option. I created the blog page which appears to be working just fine: http://wordpress-how-to-tutorial.com/blog, however, nothing shows up in the home page when I attempt to set the feature with sidebar choice. Not critical at the moment, but still "a puzzlement". Thank you again, Simon, for taking the time to offer solutions to the general issue.

Carolyn, To get content on the feature template with the sidebar you just have to add it directly to the page editor for that page. (just like you would add content to any other/normal page) EcoPro currently doesn't have an option to display blog content on the feature page, but there are posts here somewhere on how to do it manually.

Thanks! I thought I saw a support doc on it, but I may have found it in the forum. I'll look around again.
