Frustrated with home page and feature boxes

Recommended Posts

I'm extremely frustrated with the iBlogPro theme. On the theme's demo page here (http://www.pagelines.com/demos/iblogpro/), there are feature boxes under the main one that starts with the left one saying "You'll love this theme". For the life of me, I cannot find how to add the feature set boxes to my home page here- http://blazemarketinginc.com/. I don't know what I did to remove that feature box on mine. I've have done everything I can think of to remedy it, including- 1) pointing the home page settings (Settings->Reading) to a new page I created (called "Home") where I can manually add the feature boxes. The problem with this option is that with a new page, new content must be displayed, which I don't want. 2) tried deleting the iBlogPro theme and reinstalling in hopes that I could get it to default back to that "look". But it won't restart everything. That is, I cannot add those feature boxes by reinstalling the theme. What am I doing wrong? How can I manipulate my "home page" in general where I can add this box as I can do with other pages? I appreciate anyone's help in advance! Scott

Reinstalling the theme won't change anything because the info stays stored in the database unaffected. What you want to is go to: iBlogPro > Theme Options and then find at the bottom the option to reset all settings. Thanks, Bryan

I've gone through each one of those and reset them...but it doesn't put the feature boxes on the home page. I've done something where they won't come up.

It looks to me like you have the feature boxes there. The copy is different (you must have changed) but I see the familiar feature box graphics Do you still need a solution?

Adam, Thanks for the response. I do have the feature boxes on there now, but to do so I've had to make the home page the static page. No problem with that except that in the middle of the page, there's a wide box that says "Home". Is there a way to remove that box? If so, I'm good to go. I think a big point of confusion for me is the home page or what you call "posts" page. There doesn't seem to be a way to manipulate that page as you can with the other pages. The bottom line is that I'd like the home page look like the home page of the demo. I believe it did at the very beginning but somewhere along the way I've checked or unchecked something erroneously. Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott

To get rid of the "Home" box simply add this CSS:

.home #content{display:none}

to iBlogPro > Theme Options > Custom Code > Custom CSS Thanks, Bryan

Did you restore options to default for both the feature setup and the theme options? Also, I would start a new post in fear of this one not getting red by mods since it's marked as resolved.
