Prefix on domain

Recommended Posts

My blog is pleaseaddsalt.com. I am trying to add (what i think is called) a subdomain to my site for organization purposes. I want to organize my posts by city. So for example I want people to be able to go to sf.pleaseaddsalt.com or la.pleaseaddsalt.com to read only posts in those cities.

What you are asking is not natively supported by WordPress, there are a couple of plugins in the wordpress extend repo that did do it, but they are very much out of date.

I have created a subdomain with my hosting provider, I am just trying to integrate it into my site. This can't be done?

As i said, its very difficult to setup, your probably going to need a wildcard domain anyway.

Your subdomain should point to a folder in your site. It can also be a category in WP. Just use your menu - adding an item linked to subdomain.yoursite.com. You would use the manual menu item editor at Dashboard > Appearance > Menus
