Thumbnail view on category pages

I love page lines 2.0 by the way! But I have a question. I have my secondary NAV at the top that has created pages from my category lists. really cool! I see that there are 4 options for the ???excerpt??? layout view for when pagelines is told to post thumbnails...I have tried all 4 options and none of them really look that great. I was wondering if there was a way that I could either do like a grid of my thumbnails, each linking to that post. OR if I could do 2 columns. As of now, ALL the 4 options end up with 1 column and it looks kind of strange.... suggestions?

There isn't an option to show them as a grid although there is probably a Wordpress plugin for it (http://www.wordpress.org/extend/plugins/). If you choose the magazine style mode, that will display columns of posts.
