Pagelines 2.0 Professional and BBpress Theme

Recommended Posts

Hello, I would like to know first if the Professional or Development edition of Pagelines 2.0 carries a BBPress theme? I currently own the Platform Pro Developer version which carries a theme for a BBpress forum. Want to make sure before I purchase either one.

PageLines Framework 2.0 is unfortunately not ready for bbPress. It may be made possible in a future iteration. We are fully prepared for Vanilla integration based on the license version you purchase. Vanilla is free for self-hosted use with unlimited members. Go to VanillaForums.org Use the Downloaded edition.

Can you elaborate on that decision? bbPress is supported by the wordpress company and seems to me long term a better strategic choice to create communities.

There have been some technical differences for some time that we've not yet been able to overcome between the way bbPress is coded and some earlier versions of PageLines products. While I agree that bbPress is a wonderful product, their upgrade from version 1.1 to the plugin model in bbPress 2.0 resulted in some styling conflicts. We've found Vanilla forums to work better within our framework but we continue to work with bbPress to create greater integration possibilities in some future update. Unfortunately, I have no idea when that will take place.

Both the Framework and BBPress will have to be coded to work together. The author has said he is interested in working with us on a solution, as soon as things have settle down we will have another look at it.

I just bought a platform pro developer but quite frankly, pagelines is not as simple as it seemed before buying! No doubt the drag and drop template area is just great, thats what I call making life simpler for someone that does not know coding and other cool developer stuff, but some of the other stuff, like removing the pageline link from footer should be doing with a click of a button on the admin panel and not by going to the CSS area. Folks, please work on it, the forum was THE most important factor in my buying decision. The entire look and feel of the bb press forum looks so much better than any other out there. Hoping you'll come up with come with a solution asap and keep us posted.

The PageLines leaf link is removed with the developer version, just FYI. More info at http://www.pagelines.com/pricing/.
