Footer colour & sidebar difficulties post-going live

Recommended Posts

My site went live last night: www.mhdt.org.uk I've really appreciated learning things on here - specifically reducing the width of the feature slider. So I'm back with my own question! My web hosting company did the behind-the-scenes work to make the site live. I notice now that on certain category pages the background colour in the footer disappears and the sidebar widgets go awry: e.g. http://www.mhdt.org.uk/activities/youngpeople Whereas on another category page it looks fine: http://www.mhdt.org.uk/activities/inter-generational I'd really appreciate some ideas as a non-techie person who's fast having to learn - I'm a bit wary of rummaging around in the files on the server. My web hosting company are not sure what's causing the issue. Thanks very much...

Hi Robbie, Would it be possible for you to contact your web host who handled the migration and ask them what they did. There is most certainly an issue somewhere with the sidebar not being in the correct position on certain categories. When they get back to you, reply here with what they said.

Please search our forums, before posting!

Thanks for your response Danny! Paul my web host says: 'A brief summary is not possible it is a massive task and not fully finished. 'If you can point them (i.e. you!) directly to me I will go through it with them as the problems I had are down to pagelines and it would be good to be able to resolve them for future (I'm aware we're probably not able to do that on this forum). 'The gist of how it is left at the moment is pagelines is still looking at its files from the /wp/ directory and quite possibly still with the old http:xxxxxxxxxx cpanelaccountname url as that is where I ran into issues when that was changed. 'I did sort it on the other but it took time I am quite certain it is a pointer in pagelines to point it to the correct url but can I find it easily.... no! 'Only other things I did was move a copy of all the files from /wp to / so they worked in the root of the domain without /wp and edited the db to change the http://xxxxxxxxx/~ etc to the domain name' Does this make the issue any clearer? Any ideas about what might be happening? Thanks again Rob
