Page Templates

Hello, I'm trying to create a tag index page by creating a new page template. I created the new template file and added it to base and made the necessary adjustments in functions.php. The new template is showing in the sidebar and I can apply it just fine. My problem is, everything being rendered displays below the footer. I know I can achieve what I want by using the execphp plugin and just entering my code in the page content area, but I assumed to just make a custom page. Is my logic wrong for using custom page templates? How should I implement this? I feel like I am overlooking something easy. -James

The new templates that you make with PlatformPro are not intended to have different "content' they are all just blank templates with a name, and only intended to provide different configurations of "sections" in Template Setup. If you want a new page template with new content, you would make a new template as you did, and then create a new "section" for the content. Then you go to Template Setup and drag your new section into the template. So you could really skip the page template part if you want and use one of the existing ones, as I said, they are all the same except by name and the enabled sections by default. But for example the "Feature template" could have no feature, just boxes, and the "Boxes" template could have no boxes, just a Feature slider. The method to create new sections is about as easy as creating page templates. Here's the doc: http://www.pagelines.com/docs/custom-sections
