Running 2.1.1 not notified of the upgrade?

Recommended Posts

Hi I bought 2.1.1.1 back in March for a client. I have been on the forums asking a support question and noticed that theme had been upgraded. I never received any notification of this - how do I get the upgrade - it looks like it will solve some of the problems I have with the theme as it is ?

If it's the upgrade to version 3 you're referring to you would need to purchase the new version, however, you should be running the latest version of 2 at no charge. Thanks, Bryan

Will the current version keep running when WP3.0 comes out? How long do you support older versions? Frankly if I don't have free upgrades (which I am fairly astounded by to be honest ) - I may just have to switch themes. And it seems to me that you are building a support nightmare which doesn't encourage people to run the latest version of the software

You do have free upgrades for the version of WhiteHousePro you purchased, but not every subsequent version thereafter. I'm just a mod here for support, but the analogy that comes to mind for me is if you buy a 2009 car, that might come with free repairs, oil changes etc. for the life of that specific vehicle. But, around the corner there will eventually be the 2010 model which took a lot of work and time to modify and make better, this effort has to be funded, it's no different than any other business; cell phones, laptops etc. I think support is permanent for any product you purchase from PageLines. I'm not sure about WordPress 3 compatibility, I'll forward this inquiry along for special help. Thanks, Bryan

Note, there is a lot lower cost for upgrades. Send us an email about this. Second, yes all the themes are already 'compatible' with WP 3.0. For a maintenance release we're working on adding some of the additional features, but the implementation of them isn't fully mature yet. So its hard to say what will be added, when.
