PlatformPro+Custom Post Type for a Noob

Recommended Posts

Hi! I am working on a new website for a new project. And I've wanted to show my fidelity to Pagelines in using PlatformPro. What I want to make may be very simple for some of you, but it takes a huge amount of time for me to build it because I don't knwo how to code. Ok so let's go for what I want for the final result : I want to use the normal function of the theme for a part called "blog" and I simply want to add a custom post type, with similar function, for another part called "podcast". I've looked on this forum and I've found some answers, like "use Custom Post UI" or http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/12311/how-to-make-custom-page-templates/p1'>http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/12311/how-to-make-custom-page-templates/p1 to make the CP archive template (as the blog archive). The problem I've met is when I do all the things said on these answers, that's still not working for me. So here are my questions : - If I've understood, I must use Platform Base for customization, or use PlatformPro? (as I said : I am noob, even for the choice of the theme!) - I've used Custom Post Types UI, check "has archive", follow the steps here for a custom post archive template (http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/12311/how-to-make-custom-page-templates/p1'>http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/12311/how-to-make-custom-page-templates/p1) but that's still not working for me. Thanks a lot for giving me your time to answer to these questions.

You must use PlatformBase for customization, but PlatformPro must also be installed (just deactivated while PlatformBase is activated). Do you have PlatformBase already downloaded?

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
