Main Nav & Sub Nav - Different Text Colors

Recommended Posts

Hello, Here is the website I am currently working on: http://www.mbhomes2.com/ 1st Question: Main Navigation: I would like my Main Navigation (Home, Communities etc...) to be WHITE when not active. I was able to acheive this by changing the value in Design Control > Page - Tertiary Text Color to #ffffff. Problem is, it also makes the sub nav color white as well. How can have the 2 nav colors different? What is the value for the sub nav color. 2nd Question: How do I remove the background image from showing bewtween the feature slider and the body text area on the home page. It is removed on the other pages because the content area is directly below the navigation, but on the homepage, since the feature slider is the first thing, it is showing the body background image behind it. 3rd Question: What should I change to make the background of the main navigation white? It is currently navy blue? Also, would like the active text on the main navigation to be a dark gray when active. Thanks in advance. You guys are always helpful. Best Regards, Aladdin

Figured out part of question 1& 3: Heres the code I used: .main-nav li.current_page_item a {background:#ffffff;} #primary-nav li.current_page_item a {color:#000000;} How do I change the color of the subnav text. I tried this: #secondnav li.current_page_item a {color:#000000;} And it didn't work.

Do you have Firebug for Firefox? http://www.getfirebug.com. It will give you the CSS and tools to identify the elements you want to change specifically. As for the background issue in No. 2, let me show you http://www.epicurusinstitute.org. View the background image. This image incorporates a white canvas even without using the Canvas option in PlatformPro. It eliminates the background (sky, in your case) appearing between elements of the site. This is your easiest option.
