Use Multiple Widgets per Column in Footer?

Recommended Posts

I failed to find any topics related to or plugins for this issue, so... Is there a way to achieve multiple widgets per column in the 5-column footer? (I can easily do this in the 3-column footer b/c it has the obvious left/middle/right sections). If I add 5 widgets to the 5-col widget area, they line up in the order I have placed them on my site. If I add a sixth or more, they seem to randomly select which goes where. Example: I add widgets 1-6. They line up 1,2,3,4,6 and 5 appears under 4. If I reorder them, it has a different and seemingly random solution. Below is an example of what I would like to achieve w/in a single column: Multi-Widget_5Col.jpg As you can see in the right column, I have 3 widgets lined up. Contact, LinkedIn, & Skype. Any suggestions on how I can do this? Has anyone come across a widget that I can drag widgets into (I think that makes sense)? Thanks in advance!

Hi Zerogws, From the looks of the screenshot, the last widget (if that is what you want in the 5 column) could be done with HTML in a text widget, have you not tried that ?

I was simply using what's in the screenshot as an example. There are other widgets I would like to be able to use however, I could hard code anything I want and make it show, but that would defeat the purpose of a drag & drop platform. I need it for myself and especially for my client who needs to change the widget input from time to time.

At present, you can't add multiple widgets stacked in the 5 column footer. However, as Danny suggests, you can place text widgets within the 5 column footer. On my site, I use tables to create a row of images and another with a title and blurb. There's no reason you couldn't style your own content with images, links, headings, titles, etc per table row.
