Newbie Question - How to setup simple home page?

I'm new to Platform Pro... Have read through the documentation... I failed to find a simple set of instructions to setup a carousel. Can you help? What would be an easy way (i.e. using default code / no edits to css or php, etc.) to create a homepage that would have some changing images in the center of it with some menus? Is this a feature slider? Is it a carousel? eg. http://semetko.com/ How would I go about setting it up?

A carousel is included, depending on the template you've chosen for your homepage. Visit the homepage you've created and on the right side, find out which template you selected (there's a drop down list). Then, go to Dashboard > PlatformPro > Template Setup. There's another drop down list there. Find the matching template. Make sure that Carousel is there. If it is not, using your cursor, move it over from the column on the far right to the one just to its left. Slide it up or down based on where you want it to be on your homepage. Save your settings. Now scroll down to where you see "Carousel Settings" and make sure Post Featured Images is selected. For the moment, let's leave the rest of the settings alone. If you have posts that have featured images, the images will show up automatically. No images will appear in the carousel unless the post contains a feature image.

I actually worked this out with Features, creating a category of features that would show on the homepage, and then a feature for each image. Is this not the right way to go?
