rockyrockwood 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2010 Hi. I would like to not have the excerpt show up once the reader has opened the post - doesn't seem to make sense at that point. But I like it otherwise. What setting should I use to accomplish this? Thanks
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted May 20, 2010 I'm not completely sure, but I think you might be asking how to just show an excerpt and then the reader click to read the full post? If that's so, then you simply add this line where you want it to cut off: <!--more--> Thanks, Bryan
rockyrockwood 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Thanks Bryan - But no, in my WHP theme when you open the post (seeing the whole thing) the autogenerated excerpt remains on top of the post. Maybe this is not normal theme behavior?
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 I think I need to fully understand what's happening that you don't want to happen before I can help... Please provide a link to an example page and walk me through the steps to recreate the issue and exactly what you don't want to happen. Thanks, Bryan
justme 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 rocky I'm using iBlogPro but I imagine it is the same. In admin Theme Options > Pages and Posts > Post Excerpt Placement, you have various options. I believe what you want is the first one - 'Only on blog pages and search'.
