ferdmaster 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2011 Hi guys, I use Platform Pro and instead of the default Icon set, I use the "Social Media Widget" which I placed in the universal sidebar. I moved the sidebar up to the header next to the logo 113px from the top so that it is inline with my navigation. Strangely, the links don't work when I put the icons in this spot. When I have them further up, like 60px from the top, it works fine. Is there an overlap of something? I also removed the search fuction just yesterday, where the icons are placed now. http://www.ngojobs.at/home Thanks for your help as usua. ferdmaster 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2011 By the way: It seems to be a browser issue, since it works fine in IE, but not in Firefox.
Rob 547 Report post Posted November 3, 2011 As for the browser, my best guess is that IE is being a bit forgiving of the layering you're attempting to achieve, where Google, Firefox and perhaps other browsers won't be quite so polite. What appears to be happening is that by adjusting the icon widget group down into the div for navigation, the browsers generally are seeing a conflict of code. The proper way to do this would actually be to get the code for the icons, with their links, and add it into a hook in functions.php OR, edit the proper template from PlatformPro and including that in the platformbase folder. I believe the file will be section.nav.php. Unfortunately, I'm not proficient enough in editing the section or template files to advise on technique or process to achieve this. Perhaps one of my colleagues can help if you need it. Former PageLines Moderator, Food Expert and Raconteur
blotchy39 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2011 I'm afraid I'm having the same problem. I lowered the social icons to the same level as the nav bar via the Pagelines UI and they suddenly don't work. Does anyone know if Rangelone's solution actually works? Could anyone elaborate on what he attempted to say? Any other ideas? Thanks :-)
