I want the feature on the opening page, but not on others

I'm pulling my hair out because I know that I should be able to find the answer to this question in my previous posts or in others' posts. I did something today--I don't know what. I was fussing with the actual features, recategorizing them, and then wanting to change from magazine to single on the blog. I had it set up so that you go to the address and the first thing you see is the features with the blog active below in magazine format. Then if you click on anything else, the features disappeared. I had this working without the idea of a "home" page that acted as a first page, a static page. Now I can't figure out what i unchecked, and I've tried every imaginable combination. Any ideas? Thanks, Angela

Angela, Please send a link to your site. To recap: 1 You recategorized the feature slider order. How? Manually or with Post Types Order plugin? 2 Changed from Magazine format to Blog format and changed WP settings to show full post, not excerpts (in Dashboard > Settings > Reading). You have the site set with no static pages. Is this correct? Did you activate any static pages? 3. You were using a Default template with Feature Slider included. (Dashboard > PlatformPro > Template Setup) Is this correct? Did you change any of the template structures?

site link: http://www.angelacrow.com 1. I did add that post types order plugin. 2. I've changed things back and forth 3 or 4 times, in multiple combinations so that now i don't honestly remember. I did change to to blog and back to magazine and? 3. I was using the default template yes. I don't think I changed any of the template structures... thanks for any help... A

At the moment Angela, I see magazine format on your front page with no full width posts, only the two column variety. When I click on any of the posts, it takes me to a full length article with slider. Can you change the settings again back to "blog format"? and let me know. I'll look again.

Once you have your home page set as the "blog" page it will follow the same structure as all other posts pages including category and archive pages. To prevent that try this code in Custom Code -> Custom CSS:
#feature { display:none } .home #feature { display:block }
Kastelic, Thank you very much! I'm just wondering how I did this before where I didn't actually need the custom css... a

Have you tried adding it to the stylesheet for PlatformBase? (Appearance > Editor with PlatformBase enabled in Appearance > Themes)

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
