Using the "Feature Post" source on the home page and Using a "Post Category" source on other pages

If this was answered elsewhere, my apologies, but I couldn't find it.... Here's what I want to do: On my home page, I want to use the default feature slider set to "Feature Post Source" setting. But on other pages, I'd like the slider to pull from the post categories instead (eg, on the "Go Eat" page, I want the slider to pull the last 3-5 food posts. Is there a way to accomplish both? Or can I only choose one or the other option? The site I am building is www.GoNorthNYC.com

Hi. Love the idea of Manhattanites going north as there's great dining and shopping uptown. As for the sliders. Presently, there's no real way to do this, BUT, if I may suggest, you could use the Category option for all but your static front page. There, you could use a slider or carousel (some sliders are called carousels) and simply add it to the front page by shortcode. Some of them even look almost exactly like ours. Try http://www.wordpress.org/extend/plugins to find them. There are plenty of options there and you may find some that might suit your needs as well as Platform's.

You may wan to consider using an external plugin to do what you're wanting. Several are available at http://www.wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ and it would be much easier to use a plugin that's already made rather than reinventing the wheel. :)
