honeytrek 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 As seen on http://matadornetwork.com/ (Matador uses pagelines, and i love this feature where they have a large image, three columns, and some text and ads mixed in). Can anyone describe how i can go about adding that to my site http://HoneyTrek.com I took a screen shot of what i was describing above - http://smal.in/si/2011-10-26_1532.png Thanks, Mike [email protected]
kastelic 6 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 You can't exacltly acheive this with Pagelines settings alone, they have extensive customization going on there, including customized loops. Have you read through the theme customization tips at http://www.pagelines.com/docs/customization-tips ? If you activate the child theme and copy template.postloop.php into it you can modify it to look and act any way you want.
honeytrek 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2011 Kastelic, do you have a link to setting up a child theme? If I don't do the child theme route, is it still possible to pull in an image to the homepage, and to shorten the amount of text describing each post? or better yet, have a totally unique block of text describing each post. Rob 547 Report post Posted November 7, 2011 PlatformBase is the child theme for PlatformPro. Do you have that activated? If so, then FTP into wp-content/themes/platformpro, download a copy of template.postloop.php to your local machine, modify it as Kastelic suggested and upload it to wp-content/themes/platformbase. The docs, including child themes are here. http://www.pagelines.com/docs/ Former PageLines Moderator, Food Expert and Raconteur

kastelic 6 Report post Posted December 19, 2011 To customize the post excerpts, when you go to edit your post, go to the top of the screen and click "screen options" and make sure that "excerpt" is checked. Then you can type in your own excerpt instead of the automatic one. To insert an image somewhere on your page, you could use a number of different sections, added to the "posts page" template, for example, the "full-width" sidebar. Could you be more specific as to what you would like to add and where?
