humanv3 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 Hi there, the Twitterbar feed is not working (going on 1 month) and is wanted by the client. Is there a way to incorporate a different plugin instead of the Twitter for Wordpress which doesn't seem to want to work. ("Unknown Twitter Error.") Thanks in advance. *Notes: All the plugins being used need to be there, so deactivating isn't possible. Thanks in advance! HumanV3
kastelic 6 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 Are you on bluehost? I have read in several posts that bluehost has problems with twitter. If you are I would contact them.
humanv3 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 No, not with Bluehost. I believe it's dreamhost. Either way I need to replace it with something else. ;)
Danny+ 1,327 Report post Posted October 27, 2011 Hi HumanV3, I've linked a post that you may find useful, it's regarding another users issue with the twitter bar. http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/comment/78211#Comment_78211 I would contact your host and ask them for advice and inform us of their response. I also did a search for you, for the best twitter plugins for wordpress and posted the link below. I don't have any experience with any of these plugins, but it can't hurt to give them all a try and see if any are any good to you. http://webdesignledger.com/tools/15-useful-twitter-plugins-for-wordpress Please search our forums, before posting! humanv3 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2011 I guess what I'm asking for is where can I put a new twitter plugin (or code) into that particular space within PageLines? I'd like to keep it where it is, but I can't seem to locate it within the pageLines code to remove the current one. As it is not an option in "Widgets", I'll obviously need to manually update a new Twitter code... I just need to know where to find it :) Human/
Jenny 33 Report post Posted October 29, 2011 Placing something in its exact spot would require editing and writing some PHP. If that is something you're not comfortable with, then I would recommend maybe using the highlight section or the more foot section for something like that. It would require some custom CSS tweaks to move it down but it could work. Keep in mind it will not look like it does not, most likely, not even the slightest. Sorry I can't be of more help. Someone else may have some better insight. ♥ Jenny :: Web designer at Simple Mama (follow me at @simplemamacom) Check out Share Me, a social sharing add-on for DMS that is super simple to set up. humanv3 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2011 OK, just in case anyone else needs it: I was able to recreate the Twitter bar using the Universal Sidebar! Just copied the CSS from my current Twitterbar to the Universal Sidebar classes, tweaked it a bit and added a Twitter plugin into the Universal sidebar in "Widgets". Takes a bit of finesse with CSS, but nothing much for semi-experienced folks :) Thanks for getting me to think everybody! :)
