Confused about Platform Pro

Recommended Posts

Hi I love and sometimes get really mad at Platform Pro. It's likely due to me not grasping something fundamental. I've set up my site the way I want it. Then i created a new category (Maria) and added it to the menu. However it's not displaying like the other categories that I have on the menu. I don't want the footer or more footer to show at all. I thought I had set it up correctly, but then when I created category "Maria" and added it to the menu it dip lays with footer and more footer and I just can't figure out why. My site is www.teg.pp.se Any help or tip will be appreciated.

I might add that I have footer set to hide by default. From what I can understand the issue appears when there are not posts in the category. If I add a test post then it displays like the other posts pages. So the question is, why does the footer show when there are no posts? ( I think i kstakenly took the twitter info as being part of more footer, but I removed the twitter section from the forefoot template and that took care of that. But I still don't understand which page or section is displaying when there are no posts.

A category menu item is displayed as a "posts page" in Wordpress (i.e. a page that displays all your posts from a select category). The footer area is determined by your "Site Footer" setup in PlatformPro. If you don't ever want those areas to appear, then make sure nothing is active in the "Site Footer." We can help by providing custom CSS to hide the footer and morefoot areas from your site. Just please be specific in letting us know if you want to hide those sections on ALL category pages or on just a single page (if a single page, please provide its link).

Hi For now I don't want to show the footer or more footer on any page. At the moment I have the following custom css with regards to footer #feature-footer {display: none;} My site footer are settings are "Hide this by default", which is why I am confused as to why its showing up. I thought that setting would mean that the site footer would not show unless i actively chose to show it.

Did you go to the section I mentioned above? PlatformPro -> Site Footer. If you don't want anything to show up, it should be blank.

Ok, i removed it and that solved the problem, although it does not answer why it wasn't enough to check "hide this by default" in the advanced setting?

Glad that solved your problem. I'm not sure where you're selecting the box that says "hide this by default." I don't see that in the Footer Options page of PlatformPro. There is an option to "Hide Sidebars When Empty (no widgets)" in the Sidebar Options, though, but that only pertains to sidebars. You may be talking about the option within an individual post or page, which that should hide them. However that will not hide them on posts pages (i.e. category menu items). Hope that helps!
