Are you using a static home page? If so, you can uncheck elements in the right sidebar of the page/post edit screen. If not, you could simply hide this secondary sidebar via CSS. You would use "display:none", and you could specify to use this only on the home page by prefacing it with the .home class.

You might want to consider creating a static homepage and following Kate's suggestion of hiding the secondary sidebar in the Pagelines settings on the specific page.
