Rob 547 Report post Posted October 25, 2011 You may have a conflict by having a page called forum there. jabernathy 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2011 I deleted the Forum page that I added and changed the archives slug to community. These did not work.
kastelic 6 Report post Posted October 25, 2011 I am seeing the forum at that link, did you get this resolved?
jabernathy 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2011 Its not resolved yet. I can only get to the forum through dashboard. Possible the link you saw was a page I added titled Forum hoping I could link them together. Other than the bbForum plugin is there anything else I need? I can get it to show in a sidebar widget or if I make a custom menu. But not a link on the regular Nav area.
catrina 103 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 By regular nav area, do you mean the main navigation bar? If you want to add the permalink for the forum to your website, you can create a custom menu (using Appearance > Menus on your Dashboard's left side) and add the forum as a menu item. jabernathy 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 Aren't you supposed to do it by adding a page and selecting a bbpress template? No bbpress templates show up.
Danny+ 1,327 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 Hi Jabernathy, I'm actually trying to get bbPress 2.0 to work correctly, but with the plugin not having any real documentation, you can see alot of bbpress users here, are complaining not being able to adapt their current themes to work alongside the new version. http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-20-theme-compatibility/page/3 A quick question for you, is this link below your actual main forum page layout, meaning is that your forum base ? http://phoneywood.com/wordpress/forums/forum/general/ Please search our forums, before posting! jabernathy 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 Here is the home page. http://phoneywood.com/wordpress/ My Forum is working I think, But I had to do it by creating a custom menu. It seems like there should be a setting in bbpress plugin that allows you to direct it to any page you want. Not sure what you mean by forum base but it is the main folder that holds the forum in them I guess.
Jenny 33 Report post Posted October 26, 2011 The easiest way is to do as you said above and create a custom menu item for the forum. ♥ Jenny :: Web designer at Simple Mama (follow me at @simplemamacom) Check out Share Me, a social sharing add-on for DMS that is super simple to set up.
