storm09 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2011 Hi - I'm looking to dev an online shop with MarketPress into Platform Pro. I just curious to see if any PP users have already successfully done this? And if there were any pitfalls along the way. Please link to your online shop if possible. Cheers Much appreciated.
Danny+ 1,327 Report post Posted October 20, 2011 Hi Storm, If none of the Pagelines users have used MarketPress, I would recommend the best thing to do is either do a test locally or create a test site and have a play around with it. storm09 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2011 Hi Danny I'm working on a test dev site now. Basically, I've got 4 items in my product list so far - http://niche.hickmanking.com/store/products/ but MarketPress has added a few extra sub-pages, which I can't see in my regular 'pages' section in WordPress (which is a bit weird). I want to hide the right sidebar, morefoot and Twitter bar. Any ideas? I understand MarketPress is best suited to work with their own themes - but I'm keen to see how Platform Pro handles it. Danny+ 1,327 Report post Posted October 21, 2011 Hi Storm, I have no experience with MarketPress, so I would recommend you ask them regarding these hiden pages and let us know their reply. You can also if you want, create a temp admin account and send me the details via PM and I'll take a look but the earliest I can take a look will be Monday. Please search our forums, before posting! storm09 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2011 Just to add finally, I had to quit using Platform Pro for this one because I wanted to use a grid layout for the items for sale. Something, which to be expected Platform Pro was not designed for. When using MarketPress plugin - it's best and faster to use their custom themes, which is a drag because Platform Pro is light years ahead of anything they offer over there :( Perhaps e-commerce is an area Platform Pro will delve into next? I hope so anyway because it's a pain to develop in anything less than Platform Pro. Keep up the great work team :)
Danny+ 1,327 Report post Posted November 2, 2011 Hi Storm, I was actually testing last night WooThemes WooCommerce plugin and as far as a could see it worked fine (I only did a small amount of testing) but maybe you should setup a test site and give that a try. The plugin itself is pretty awesome I have too say. Please search our forums, before posting!
storm09 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2011 Yes, I did consider Woo Themes. I went with MarketPress because there's absolutely no coding required. If Pagelines decides to build a Platform Pro E-Commerce solution - that would be awesome.
