One thing i would like to be able to do with the theme is small excerpt... sort of like small posts but using a different css. like on this page. http://www.solomonia.com/blog/ where some excerpts are on the page but in a smaller font/different color background. is that doable with white house? can it be made in other words, it's not a full post but rather a quick note to readers ... and hence in a different format. one colour a i saw on a website using white house was burgundy. would i be able to get that colour too? (it's my favourite)

I'm not entirely sure I understand the exact question? Can you please post a screenshot outlining exactly what you're referring to? If you're asking if you can cut posts short and then show the rest through a "read more" link you simply add:

<!--more-->

to the post where you want to cut it short. As far as CSS styling, pretty much anything can be done regardless of what setup you have, but I still need to understand specifically what you're talking about. Thanks, Bryan

What you're looking for might be out of the scope of what we'd be able to help you with. You may want to look into hiring a programmer or posting for help at: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/ However, another mod might be able to easily help you. Thanks, Bryan

still working my way through things! in terms of setting up an "extract" as in solomonia above... would it be a matter of adding some code in the custom code area that would overwrite the default post appearance such that there would be no post title, a grey post background(as appears in blockquotes) and maybe an icon ? like here: short_post001.jpg or would i need to go to someone to write a plug in? btw... is there any chance of getting burgundy added to the white house colour options? if there's an extra cost... lemme know!

Here are the two images to download, then based on the path you see in the image URLs will show you where to upload the images into your own setup: http://www.vineyardadventures.com/wp-content/themes/WhiteHousePro2/images/colors/nav-red.png http://www.vineyardadventures.com/wp-content/themes/WhiteHousePro2/images/colors/featurebg-red.jpg Considering the design is done by PageLines and you can't really copyright a color and it's just generic graphics, there shouldn't be any plagiarism or copyright risks or issues, but do this at your own risk. You may want to customize the colors in Photoshop or something to make it your own. However; DO NOT DIRECTLY LINK TO THE IMAGES FOR YOUR DESIGN. Thanks, Bryan
