How to delete or modify the content of "fexcerpt" in each page

Recommended Posts

Hello, I noticed that most of the pages of my blog have the following code :

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.

You can see it in the source code, for instance in the home page : http://www.thibinspore.com It actually even appears twice ! (look for "lorem ipsum" in the page) I have no idea where this code comes from. How can I remove this part, which is obviously very bad for Google ? Or even better, how can I modify it with a proper "excerpt" ?

In Settings->Blog and Posts->Post Excerpt or Summary Handling you'll want to uncheck the option to have your "excerpts" appear on the "Posts/Blog Page", as well as any other pages you don't want it on. That should do it.

Hi Kate, that does not reply to my question. Posts excerpts are showing on my home page, and it's fine. But these lines in Latin are present in the source code of all pages of my blog, and this is obviously very bad for Google ranking. My question is how to remove or modify these latin lines in the source code.

You're using the Feature Slider as your header/banner image, which is fine but thats also the reason for the "lorem ipsum" text being in your source code, you have changed the text in the default slider text. Go to your features and see if this text is there, it should be remove it and this should solve the issue.

Thanks Danny, I think we are getting closer. I don't see any "lorem ipsum" on the feature that I created for my banner. However, I see a "lorem ipsum" in the feature named "Make An Impression", as well as in the feature "Web Design Redesigned". Can I actually delete these 2 feature entirely ? I don't know what they are used for so I prefer to ask.

If the features you're talking about were not created by you and aren't used on your site, then delete them, they're probably the ones that come with the install of the theme to help new users understand how to use them.

Thanks Danny ! It actually works, and this "lorem ipsum" has now disapeared. However, I still see (in the source code of each page, see below) a div excerpt with an empty space (no more "lorem ipsum"), how can I fill that field with a real excerpt of the page/post ?

Well I don't think you're able to remove this, unless you go into the features core code, as the way you're using your Feature slider is as a header/banner image rotator and not actually as a feature slider. The feature slider is normally used for featured content like posts ect. The slider then uses the posts excerpt to display teaser content with a link to the actually full content (post/page), seeing as you aren't doing that, the only option you have is to remove some of the code from the files. But this wouldn't be wise as it won't be possible for you to use the feature slider in the future as it's intended to function. If you really can't live with having the

on your page source then we can help you remove it.
