Features Rotating Automatically Like Carousel

Recommended Posts

highlandcityarts

I've been used to a really nice feature in Joomla "Ice Theme" that has a "banner" at the top... They look like the features that I have on highlandcityarts.org right now but they rotate after "X" seconds... How do I do this in Pagelines, word-press... I've searched the docs.

Dashboard > PlatformPro Settings > Feature Settings in the "Feature Viewing Time (Timeout)" area, put a number I recommend 7000. In "Feature Transition Time (Timeout)" make sure you have at least 1500 there. In "Remove Feature Transition Syncing" make sure "Remove Transition Syncing" is unchecked. Save your settings.

I am trying to achieve feature automation something like on this site. http://justitia.com.au/web/. Also, the feature slider is still picking up the 2 default pictures of pageline even though I have selected another category. Pls suggest

Go to PlatformPro -> Feature Settings and then Feature Viewing Time (Timeout) and all you have to do is put a number there.

Is it because I am on pagelines and platform pro? And here is where I am updating the features page to get what I want - Under pagelines > SPECIAL > BLOG PAGE > FEATURES Enter the height (in pixels) > Blank Number of feature slides > 2 Slect feature set or category to show > Delhi Lutyens Feature navigation mode > Square or dots Feature viewing time > 7000 Feature transition time > 1500 Transition effect > Fade Show play/pause button > Checked Feature post source > Feature post (custom) Post category > none Remove transition syncing > unchecked I also wanted to know why is it pulling default slides when I have selected a particular category and the number is set to 2 slide and yet its showing all four. Please let me know what am I missing here.

Hi Pankaj1, I am creating http://justitia.com.au/web so I can answer that for you. I was on PlatformPro 1.5.3 and the Feature (sliding images at the top) worked fine (that is, it showed auto transitioning images). Recently, I ungraded to Pageline 2.0 and the same Features auto transitions fine (except for the little bug mentioned below). I was little confused when you said,
"Is it because I am on pagelines and platform pro?"
... think of them as WordPress themes... which one are you using at the moment? As for your question about
"I also wanted to know why is it pulling default slides when I have selected a particular category and the number is set to 2 slide and yet its showing all four."
... Features function in Pagelines Framework 2.0 has a wee bug. The Feature slides you place on your HOME/BLOG PAGE will pick up EVERY slides, no matter what SET you choose WP-Admin > SPECIAL > BLOG PAGE > FEATURES. Everything works fine on all other pages. So, good news is, auto transition work on both Platform Pro 1.5.3 and Pagelines 2.0. Bad news is, you can not use 'Feature Sets' to limit which slide to show on the first page... yet. I understand Pagelines developers are working on the cure!! :) By the way, all your settings look good to me. Question to you. Are you slides displayed but NOT automatically transitioning OR not showing up on the page at all? Can you tell us your web address and which page you are talking about? Paul

Paul, Thanks! Okay - sorry that was a typo. I meant, Is it because I am on pagelines and NOT platform pro? I see what you are saying - but its the same story on all pages of my site. delhilutyens.com It is not picking the right number of slides on any of the pages also no automatic movement? Is there anything I am missing here?

Based on your settings it doesn't look like you've have anything missing. It's possibly a problem inherent in the feature slider, but the issues are being worked on.

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.

@Pankkaj1 - Okay, so you ARE using PlatformPro 1.5.3 (not Pagelines Framework 2.0). The good news is, Feature sliders on my 1.5.3 worked 100%. So, it can be fixed. WAIT JUST A MINUTE... your post above with your settings, it contains settings that are ONLY available in Pagelines Framework 2.0. Can you do something? Go to WP-Admin > Appearance > Themes - What does it say your CURRENT THEME is? Paul PS. This is just to clarify your platform, rather then anything else. PPS. Only other thing I noticed in your setting is the 'Enter the height in Pixel' setting... I have mine at 330px as that was the default setting for PlatformPro 1.5.3.

@catrina @cybersphere Looks like the bug has now been fixed by Pageline folks. I was playing around with this a little bit on my other site and it started working just the way I wanted. Thanks for looking into this for me guys!
