Mouse over on feature nav

Recommended Posts

I've set up my feature section with four slides. I'd like it that instead of having to click on the nav icons beneath them to change slide, users would hover on these to change feature slide, and clicking on the nav icon will link to the page relating to the slide. I believe I'd need to reconfigure something in the section.features.php file, but im not certain. Thanks in advance, here's the site : http://www.partnerafrica.org

If I understand what you're asking, you want the slide to change just by someone hovering? But doesn't that defeat the purpose of the hover? Normally people hover to see what something is about or see where it will lead them, not actually take them somewhere. Did you know you can use settings in the features themselves to create a link on the slide? Just edit "Feature Link URL" and "Link Text" for each individual feature. See an example at http://photos.simplemama.com

Thanks for the reply simple-mama! What Im looking to do is set it up so that when a user hovers over a specific slider navigation tab (the green tabs beneath the sliders content on my home page), the content within the slider will change. Then if they actually click on the tab, they are taken to a page containing expanded information on the topic outlines in the slide. Im basically just trying to speed up how quickly users can navigate the slider, and allow them to access the pages it relates to with fewer clicks. The http//www.ign.com homepage has a slider with similar functionality to what im looking for.

I'd like to know how to change the slide on hover too. ;) I've asked a similar question on the forum before. Unfortunately this is a little past the scope of the theme and would require a bit of customization. If no one here can figure out a solution, then I suggest contacting one of our Pros (http://www.pagelines.com/pros/).
