Site Stats for new posts

Recommended Posts

I upgraded to iBlogPro4 yesterday and my first post created in the new platform isn't registering on my WordPress site stat page. I was on the free iBlog platform before and all the previous posts are registering fine. I'm not sure if there is a button or default I need to change or if I need to send you additional more specific information. Thanks.

I don't have to much experience w/ the stats plugin, but my thought is that its probably an issue with the plugin. There really isn't much in the theme that could be going on to affect it. Did you try the plugin site for support? Also, have you checked into Google Analytics?

I think there is a problem with Google Analytics as well - it seems unlikely that my site traffic diminished yesterday by like 700%. Since I upgraded, would I have needed to paste in the Google Analytic code back into one of my template pages? Could you tell me which template page and where please? Sorry to ask such basic level questions (but I did try and resolve myself before asking). Thanks.

Right, with Google Analytics code you can keep it w/ upgrades if you place it in the footer scripts option. (it will place it in your footer) Alternatively, there are a couple good Google Analytics plugins you could use that will keep you in the clear with upgrades, etc...

so what do you mean "footer scripts option"? is that in the edit themes portion and the _footer_nav.php file?

You'll want to go to this page in your WordPress Admin: http://www.lifeofanarchitect.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=pagelines Then, go down to the menu tab: "Custom Code". Scroll down to find: "Footer Scripts & Analytics". You'll want to paste in your Google Analytics code there and save. For your Stats plugin, exactly what plugin is it, can you post a link? And check to make sure if it's compatible with the latest version of WordPress. Thanks, Bryan

Thanks Bryan, The extra detail you provided got me looking in the right place - everything was straightforward after that. Cheers.
