davestolte+ 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2011 Hello - Is there a way to add a custom Javascript navigation bar to the Header section? I have a certain way I want the navigation to look, basically PNGs with rollovers that will point to Wordpress categories. I thought I could do this with Javascript in a box like this: But that's not working. Caveat: I'm not a programmer, I'm a visual designer with only enough knowledge of code to make me dangerous. Rob 547 Report post Posted October 12, 2011 Dave, the way we generally are able to help diagnose or recommend things is to look at the site. Could you provide a link? Thanks. If all you're basically trying to achieve is adding a background image to the navigation (which is already a JS, we can handle that with CSS. There's no need to reinvent the wheel, much as the temptation seems to hit many. Former PageLines Moderator, Food Expert and Raconteur
davestolte+ 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2011 Thanks, there's a page at http://www.homebarbasics.com/?p=22 I'm trying to get the nav bar looking like this: http://homebarbasics.com/stuff/nav.png I've tried putting the Javascript into a Box, a Banner, and a Feature - some will display the images and act as links, but none show the rollover graphic. If there's a way I can get the nav bar to look like the mockup without using Javascript, graphics, & rollovers, I'm all ears.
davestolte+ 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2011 I have the basic appearance and functionality working now at http://www.homebarbasics.com/?p=22 - just two problems left to solve: 1. The rollovers aren't working 2. There's a large gap above & below the nav bar graphics. Is there a way to control the height of the banner?
davestolte+ 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2011 Problem resolved - placing them in a banner works. And I'm adjusting the branding / header padding through custom code.
