Boxes and Sidebar next to each other

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I know this is an old topic and I read through all the disussions so far on the topic of feature sliders/boxes not being lined up with the sidebar. First I read that it needs a lot of complicated CSS, then I read some instructions on how to insert certain hooks in the Custom CSS but it didn't work out for me. So far I managed to reduce the width of my feature slider and my boxes, and I arranged the sidebar next to the featuire slider, but the boxes are still UNDER the sidebar instead of next to it. What custom code do I need? Here's the link: http://www.ngojobs.at So far I have the following code which I almost randomly copied from other forum topics :-) body{} #feature_slider div.default-features {width: 6900px;} #feature-area {width: 690px} .home #feature-footer {width: 690px;} .home #feature_slider{width:690px;} .home #feature-area, .feature-wrap {width: 690px;} .home #feature-footer {width: 690px;} #feature-footer.dots{width: 690px;} #sidebar1 { margin-top: -280px; } #soapbox .fboxgraphic{line-height:1em !important;height:auto !important;} #fbox_20 {width: 345px;} #fbox_21 {width: 345px;} #fbox_43 {width: 345px;} #fbox_19 {width: 345px;} Thanks for your help, you guys are always very quick!

Honestly, the boxes don't work very well in the main content area. They're truly meant to be full width. Believe me, I've tried and came to the conclusion that there are much easier ways. 1. A plugin called DivUp Content will allow you to create sections or boxes within the content area however you like them. 2. Tables, styled with CSS also have the same effect. I use them on my site, http://www.epicurus.com. See http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/13494/sidebar-and-boxes/p1

Hi rangelone, thanks for your answer. It's a pity it is nit made to be used togetherwith sidebars. I will check out this plugin you told me about, but in the end that's why I bought PlatformPro, in order not having to use other plugins simply for design, and deifnitely not css. I guess I will just use the morefooter with 3 columns instead of a sidebar, whatever! :-)
