Css Help Needed.

Recommended Posts

So I'd like to stretch the pic in this photo out so that there is no white margin on the left and right. However, my mcolumn has an inherent padding. When I remove that padding, my paragraph touches the sides, when I add padding to my P and .p, all my widgets lose their alignment. haha. it's a crazy loop. Any suggestions ? H07Q3.png

Something is causing the width of the site to stretch (hence the bottom sidebar). What custom CSS do you have right now?

Here it is: http://www.copypastecode.com/79682/ Maybe this will fix my layout issue in IE. everything looks off in IE.

If you were to create a single slide Feature Slider set, you could apply that Feature Slider to the page at 100% of the content width. You don't need to, but could add title and blurb there too. See this http://www.pagelines.com/forum/discussion/12458/featured-slider-width-a-solution

well. if you look at my homepage, i've used feature set there with a custom width. It might mess that one up. Maybe a banner or highlight? would that work? catrina- i'd still like to see why the site is stretched.

A banner or highlight would be 100% of the entire site width. They don't fit well into the content area. I think the issue about stretching is that your image is actually being shown in reduced size. IE may not recognize the smaller version and may be setting the area to the full width of the image. Your feature slider on the homepage is set to 650px wide. How wide should the content column on the attorneys page be? If it's 650, then my suggestion will work. It won't matter which side the slider is on based on the CSS included in the link.

It is 650. But it's way too much in height. The issue is actually not about IE. I just want it to work in Chrome, safari, firefox first. The image is slightly reduced because I sized it at 650px, but the padding issue squished the pic, making it look weird.

Ok. well lets look at this another way. if you go here: http://esww-law.com/attorneys/ notice how my H2 has a background. once again it doesn't stretch to the edges because of the padding of mcolumn. I'm trying to create a nice header at the top of each page.

OK just did it. but it stacks my h2s that are two words on top of each other. h2{padding-left:1em;padding-right: 35.2em;padding-left;1em;padding-top:1em;padding-bottom:1em;margin-top:-.1em;margin-left:-.9em;margin-bottom:2em} http://esww-law.com/attorneys/
