5Col Footer Widths

Recommended Posts

humanv3

Hi all, back again :) I'd like to be able to change the footer col widths as such: 1st: 340px 2, 3, 4 and 5: Equal Widths in rest of available space I see that they all use the same ID as to achieve an equal spacing, but I really need that 1st one to be bigger. How can I do this elegantly? I don't mind editing the footer.php if I have to, but I'd rather have a bit of insight before I mess around too much ;) Thanks in advance!

You can try the css2 first-child selector although it is buggy in IE. The only cross-browser way to do it that I can think of would be through jQuery: Paste into Custom Code -> Footerscripts:
jQuery(function(){ jQuery('.dcol_5:first').css('width','400px'); });
heya kastelic, it worked, but I still need the other dcol_5's to change uniformly to make up for it... EDIT - nevermind, I'm an idiot :P Just change the original value for .dcol_5 and it works.
