button used before a question has been properly answered? a response does not equate to an answer. and if the answer is rejected its wrong of the moderators to change it to answered.

Gavin, you're correct, a reply is not an answer. However, an Answered button does not mean that the issue is completed, closed or satisfactorily resolved. All the moderators know that, which is precisely why we don't close open discussions until the client has confirmed, in writing, that we may close the issue. Usually we don't even ask unless we see that someone has said something like "That fixed it" or "That did the trick". Any issue may be Answered, but it's never ignored. The "Bump" option you see can always bring a topic that hasn't been answered yet to your satisfaction back to the forefront, just as adding a new comment will. If a moderator can't resolve an issue, we're absolutely willing to forward the complex issues to developers. Is there a specific topic you haven't received a satisfactory reply to? Please give us the link if there is.

I've just replied to you on that thread. By the way, when referring to another discussion, please provide the URL link so we can see it. To find "the firewall question" I had to Google for it.

Our present forum search facility has some limits that Google doesn't have.
