Transparent header?

Recommended Posts

dagreat8

Hi all, I am trying to make my header (just my header) transparent so that my background design "bleeds" into the header "area" and is thus visible...I hope I make sense. Any ideas on how I can go about doing so? I tried to use firebug but I can't figure it out...is the header part of the body? If so, is there a way to nudge it down about 200px but yet still keep the logo in the default position?

I answered my own question with the help of old forum posts of course...a combination of multiple posts yielded the following code: body #page {background:transparent;} div.texture {background:white;} #branding .texture {background:transparent;} #primary-nav .texture {background:transparent;} What this accomplished: -transparent header area so the background image/design is now visible -transparent navigation bar (but not the actual navigation buttons or rollovers) - just the main background navigation bar Pretty cool stuff...hopefully it helps someone else. Thanks to cmunns and Kate for their past posts...
